Immerse yourself in the unparalleled beauty of the Manu Road, renowned for hosting a spectacular array of Peruvian bird species from around the globe. Covering a mere 90 kilometers from Abra Acjanaco to Pillcopata, this journey descends from 3,600 meters (12,000 feet) to 500 meters (1,640 feet), offering a thrilling altitude gradient that unveils new avian wonders every 200 meters.

Our meticulously crafted Manu Road four-day tour promises a birdwatcher’s paradise, featuring toucans, macaws, parrots, tanagers, and a myriad of hummingbird species amidst the lush greenery of the Peruvian Rainforest.

Day 1: Cusco to Wayquecha Biological Station

We will depart Cusco City at 4:30 A.M. Its a three-hour drive (128 kms) to Acjanaco Pass, the entrance to the Manu National Park. Along the way, we will be passing many spectacular viewpoints. Here we will get into the Cloud Forest through a winding road for 15 kilometers to Wayquecha Biological Station. Of course, we will make strategic stops at the most important birding locations.

Depending on our time and pacing, we will choose a nice spot to have our boxed lunch. Continuing on, we’ll take a “slow birding motion” drive to the station where we will spend the night.

Day 2: Wayquecha to San Pedro

Early in the morning, we will explore the trails of Wayquecha Biological Station looking for the most important orchids and birds of the Cusco Cloud Forest. We will enjoy our breakfast before we start our way along the Manu Road to San Pedro Area. On its 34 kilometers we will do the most important stops in order to see the birds of these altitudes.

Again, depending on our time and pacing, we will choose a place to have our boxed lunch. In the afternoon, we will arrive at the lodge.

Day 3: San Pedro to Villa Carmen Biological Station

We will depart the lodge at 5:00 A.M. for Pillcopata Town, where the Piñi Piñi River joins the Pillcopata River to become the Alto Madre de Dios River. From this point we will continue for only 15 minutes to Inkamazonia Hummingbird Garden where more than 15 species of hummingbirds can be seen depending on the time of year.

We will enjoy our breakfast while watching these fantastic tiny birds. We will depart the lodge to drive back to Pillcopata town in order to get the road to Villa Carmen Biological Station in the afternoon.

At 4:00 P.M. we will visit Pico de Hoz Hummingbird Garden to enjoy the beautiful sunset over the Peruvian Rainforest.

Day 4: Villa Carmen Biological Station to Cusco City

In the morning, we will explore the trails of the Station looking for the birds of Low Lands of Peruvian Jungle. We will enjoy our breakfast after our bird walk, then we will start our way back to Cusco City. Of course, we will make sure to do some strategic stops along the way to try to see any birds that we may have missed on the first day.
